We seek part-time line technicians to join us under contract with a start date as soon as possible.
We are a dynamic, small business operating out of Beltsville, Maryland manufacturing air conditioners for the off-the-grid energy environment. Our current product, the Kingfisher, is the most advanced DC marine air conditioner on the market, proudly designed and made here in Maryland. See our website at: www.archerpowersolutions.com
Our technicians serve as expert resources at Archer and perform functions associated with the assembly of our marine air conditioners, including rework and quality testing related to production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
The Position
This is a craftsmanship role. We need candidates with HVAC expertise, EPA certification, and experience in working with HVAC copper tube fabrication including soldering, brazing and bending. The technician will work alongside the business lead and occasionally with electrical and software engineers.
This technician is a team player, must be conscientious and take pride in their work while demonstrating a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
- supporting manufacturing operations in troubleshooting and resolving issues, and in implementing effective corrective and preventive actions
- assisting in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process, and perform other related duties as assigned or required
- charging systems and conducting final tests for all equipment
- assisting in packaging and preparing units for shipping.
Requirements for the position:
- Must have the ability and drive to learn new methods quickly
- Experience in brazing & soldering
- Understanding of and experience in maintenance and operation of self-contained heating and air conditioning systems
- Two years of experience in troubleshooting & repair of air conditioning systems
- Hands-on experience working with HVAC
- Ability to follow diagrams and prints
- Copper tube soldering, brazing and bending.
- Follows instructions with attention to detail
- Performs system testing
- Strong verbal & written documentation skills in English
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Schedule: Flexible, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Up to 24 hours per week, minimum 4 hour shift per day.
Job Type: Part-time, under contract
Work Location: On-site in Beltsville, Maryland
Compensation: Starting at $20 per hour (based on experience)
Successful candidate must have:
- High school Diploma or equivalent; preferably HVAC School.
- Proof of EPA Certification – Type 2 minimum
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Authorization to work for any employer in the US.
