Role description:
Arcadis is growing! Arcadis Canada is seeking a Junior Environmental Field Technician, Scientist or Engineer in Training to join our Environmental Team in Canada. This position will be based out of Ottawa, Ontario. This role will include 85% travel to sites throughout region as well as an opportunity to travel across Canada.

Role accountabilities:
As an Environmental Field Technician/Scientist/Engineer in Training, you will coordinate and execute activities assigned by Project Managers pertaining to the execution of environmental projects including environmental site assessments, risk assessments, and remediation projects. This includes conducting site visits and inspections, monitoring and supervising drilling and/or remediation activities, preparing field notes, and collecting soil and groundwater samples, and writing environmental reports.
Responsibilities will include:
- Strong understanding of field protocols including soil, groundwater, and vapour sampling, and overseeing drilling activities and subcontractor management
- Maintain knowledge and familiarity with provincial and federal regulatory frameworks (O.Reg.153)
- Diligent interpretation of environmental data
- Comparison of sample results to applicable guidelines and standards
- Preparation of reports documenting the results of investigation programs
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, clear and effective writing abilities, and solid proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Technical Diploma or bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, earth sciences, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years' experience in soil, groundwater or vapour sampling, and overseeing drilling activities and subcontractor management preferred.

The salary range for this position is $55,100-$82,650. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
