Business Analyst – Performance & Attribution

Position Details:

• Role: Business Analyst – Performance & Attribution
• Location: Hyderabad or Mumbai (Onsite)
• Shift: EMEA Shift (Partial overlap with US morning hours)
• Experience: 3–8 Years

Position Overview In this role, you will be the frontline support for a major system migration. Your primary focus will be executing parallel runs and validating that the new system's outputs—such as TWR, benchmark returns, and attribution components—align perfectly with legacy data. You will spend your day identifying data breaks, triaging discrepancies, and ensuring the transition is seamless and accurate.

Key Responsibilities

• Migration Testing: Execute UAT, system testing, and parallel runs specifically for P&A processes.
• Complex Reconciliation: Perform daily and periodic reconciliations across positions, trades, pricing, FX, and benchmarks.
• Break Analysis: Identify, analyze, and triage data breaks between systems, performing root-cause analysis to ensure data integrity.
• Defect Management: Document defects, track their progress, and perform rigorous retesting once fixes are deployed.
• Output Validation: Validate critical P&A outputs, including returns and attribution components, against industry standards.
• Reporting: Prepare structured test evidence, logs, and status updates for both onshore and offshore stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must-Have:
• 3–8 years of experience in Performance & Attribution or Investment Operations.
• Hands-on expertise in Reconciliation, Data Validation, and Break Analysis.
• Solid understanding of P&A methodologies (TWR, Benchmark returns, Attribution basics).
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage large, complex datasets.
• Strong communication skills for independent problem-solving and team collaboration.
• Preferred:
• Exposure to Aladdin, SIMCORP, or FactSet.
• Technical proficiency in SQL.
• Experience supporting system migrations, pilots, or transitions.
• Familiarity with Derivatives (Futures, Swaps, FX) to support triage efforts.
