Job Summary
The Emergency Staff Nurse is responsible for providing immediate and efficient nursing care to obstetric, gynecological, neonatal, and emergency patients. The nurse shall assess, prioritize, and manage patients requiring urgent medical attention while ensuring adherence to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and NABH guidelines.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
- Perform rapid assessment and triage of emergency patients.
- Provide immediate nursing care to pregnant women presenting with obstetric emergencies.
- Monitor vital signs and identify any signs of patient deterioration.
- Assist physicians in emergency procedures and resuscitation.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and injections as prescribed.
- Prepare patients for emergency diagnostic and surgical procedures.
Obstetric & Gynecological Emergencies
- Manage patients with antepartum and postpartum complications.
- Assist in handling obstetric emergencies such as eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, preterm labor, and fetal distress.
- Coordinate with Labour Room, OT, NICU, and other departments for seamless patient care.
- Ensure readiness of emergency obstetric equipment and supplies.
Neonatal Care
- Assist in neonatal resuscitation during emergency deliveries.
- Monitor and stabilize newborns before transfer to NICU when required.
- Maintain neonatal emergency equipment in working condition.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate nursing records and emergency documentation.
- Record medications, procedures, assessments, and patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with doctors, patients, and family members regarding patient status.
- Report incidents, adverse events, and near misses as per hospital policy.
Infection Control & Patient Safety
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
- Ensure compliance with patient identification and medication safety practices.
- Adhere to biomedical waste management guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Equipment Management
- Ensure availability and functionality of crash carts and emergency equipment.
- Monitor stock levels of emergency drugs and consumables.
- Report equipment malfunction promptly.
NABH Compliance
- Follow NABH standards, hospital policies, and clinical protocols.
- Participate in audits, drills, training programs, and competency assessments.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical nursing practices.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
