Klement Sausage Company is hiring a full-time Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team! This is a 100% onsite role located in Milwaukee, WI.

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will be the plant champion for Food Safety and Product Quality and will oversee the daily operations of the assigned plant’s Quality Assurance Department.

Overview

The QA Supervisor will work directly with operations, maintenance, materials management, marketing, product development and USDA personnel and will supervise assigned QA personnel to ensure the execution of all required daily Quality Department activities.

The Supervisor will be responsible for Quality System (SQF III), HACCP and GMP plan execution and documentation.

This role requires the selected candidate to work onsite 5 days per week.

Standard working hours are 5:00am - 2:30pm, with the occassional weekend required.

Responsibilities

Ensure Food Safety for all manufactured products through the execution of established HACCP, SSOP, GMP and SQF policies and procedures.

• Review, write and approve policies and procedures as required
• Conduct internal audits to validate performance across all critical areas

Create and support a culture that promotes Employee Safety within the department

• Be an active member of the Plant Safety Committee

Supervise the Quality Department Staff

• Lead the department and provide the combination of coaching, mentoring and required discipline necessary to build and develop the team and drive the required results
• Provide both formal and informal performance feedback to assigned staff
• Conduct annual performance reviews

Develop working relationships across all functions of the operations to ensure consistent quality performance and to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

• Lead and/or participate on continuous improvement teams

Work as the plant liaison with USDA

• Respond to USDA formal and informal requests
• Ensure all required USDA documentation is completed accurately and timely

Provide leadership during external customer and SQF Audits

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Biology or related field
• 1+ years of experience in food manufacturing
• Experience working with HACCP, GMP, SSOP and SQF quality systems
• HACCP Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience
• Experience with Statistical Process Control Methods and Control Charts
• Certified SQF Practitioner (or capable of certification within the first year of employment)
• Experience in the use of CEM Moisture/Fat Analyzer, pH Meter, Salt Analyzer, Water Activity Meter

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
