Location:

Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

Project Description The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking an experienced business analyst to assist with the development of several IT proposals on a 6-month term. Projects areas include public housing, digital archives, legal registries, grants & funding administration, and identity management services.

Experience

levels

must be:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst role
  • 5+ years working in an IT or software development environment

The following are

desirable

and will be evaluated:

  • Experience with legal registries, such as corporate, land title, property, etc..
  • Experience with selection and implementation of cloud or SaaS services
  • Experience with financial workflows and ERP/accounting integration
  • Experience managing bodies of requirements for large custom software suites
  • Experience with business process improvement techniques and tools
  • Experience with gathering requirements for the design of Business Intelligence products and dashboards
  • Experience interfacing with developers, translating business requirements into technical features and use cases
  • Experience working on options analysis for large capital investments, especially in the public sector
  • Experience in the design of identity, privacy, authentication or security services
  • Certification in a recognized business analysis framework, such as BABOK

Responsibilities could include but not be limited to:

  • Develop and document statements of requirements for considered alternatives.
  • Perform business analyses of functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows.
  • Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document items such as database content, structure, and application subsystems.
  • Develop data dictionary
  • Define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems.
  • Identify candidate business processes for re-design, prototype potential solutions, provide trade-off information and suggest a recommended course of action. Identify the modification to the automated processes.
  • Establish acceptance test criteria with Client.
  • Support and sue the selected departmental methodologies.
