As an Area Manager at Amazon's Fulfillment Center, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity of your department. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing work forecasts and determining productivity requirements to meet building objectives
- Partnering with other Area Managers to balance labor and ensure efficient operations
- Supporting safety programs and OSHA compliance for a safe work environment
- Identifying and leading process improvement initiatives and Lean tools
You should have direct management experience, be familiar with performance metrics and process improvement, and be flexible to work weekends and/or shifts.
In this role, you will be responsible for budgetary, people development, and operations objectives in one functional area of the Fulfillment Center (Inbound or Outbound). You will manage a team of Process Assistants, coach and mentor them, and drive performance objectives. Additionally, you will be involved in creating staffing plans, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other improvement plans for your area.
Collaboration with support staff such as HR Manager, Financial Manager, Facilities Manager, and IT Manager will be essential to secure resources for projects and initiatives. Sharing best practices across departments and shifts is also a key aspect of this role.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
