About the Opportunity
Alstar has exciting opportunities for multiple Journeyperson or Apprentice Pipefitters to work on our projects based in either Northwestern BC, or Fox Creek, AB. Candidates can choose to work on a full-time basis, or a contractual basis. Please note that these are camp positions.
Project Locations & Travel Details:
- Northwestern BC – Camp accommodations are provided, along with a flight allowance for each rotation.
- Fox Creek, AB – This position offers a Living Out Allowance (LOA) and a flat rate to cover travel. Candidates are required to travel to site independently by vehicle.
All rotations are 14 days on, 7 days off.
In these positions, you will be primarily responsible for the installation, repair, and upkeep of piping systems, involving tasks such as interpreting design blueprints, cutting, welding, conducting regular inspections, and laying out pipework.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Repair and maintain existing piping systems
- Cut, thread, and weld pipes as required
- Perform routine inspections to ensure system integrity and safety
- Adhere to relevant safety regulations and protocols
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Maintain housekeeping standards for a clean work environment
- Execute general tasks assigned by the supervisor
- Actively support quality and safety programs
More About You
To qualify for this role, you must be a certified Journeyperson Pipefitter, or a 2nd to 4th-year apprentice currently enrolled in an eligible pipefitting program.
The following skills and experience are required:
- Oil and gas industry experience is a strong asset
- WHMIS 2015, CSO, Standard First Aid, HS2 Alive and Fall Protection - or willingness to obtain
- Willing to complete a pre-access drug and alcohol testing
- Driver's license and reliable vehicle to commute to and from site (for Alberta location)
About the Benefits
In exchange for your hard work and dedication, you will receive a competitive hourly wage according to your role and contract status, along with a great host of benefits, including:
- Crew Foreman Contractor: $64 per hour
- Journeyperson Pipefitter Contractor: $61 per hour
- Crew Foreman Employee: $49 per hour
- Journeyperson Pipefitter Employee: $47 per hour
- 4th Year Apprentice Pipefitter: $42.30 per hour
- 3rd Year Apprentice Pipefitter: $37.50 per hour
- 2nd Year Apprentice Pipefitter: $30.60 per hour
Additionally, you will receive:
