Alexandria Country Day School is looking for a dynamic, experienced, and collaborative candidate to serve as a full-time, long-term substitute learning specialist from late August 2026 through December 2026. This position will support grades 3-5.
The learning specialist will work collaboratively with the Assistant Head of School and Director of Curriculum and Instruction, as well as three other learning specialists, to support students. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of three years experience in classroom teaching and a Masters degree in learning disabilities or a related field. Recent graduates with a masters degree in special education will be considered. Experience with Reading and Writing Workshop, UFLI, Fundations, and Singapore Math is beneficial. The School seeks candidates who are skilled, creative, collaborative, and adept at supporting learners in the classroom. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, strong communication skills, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.
