Role Description

The role of a UI/UX Designer is a volunteer position requiring on-site work in Toronto, ON. The designer will be responsible for creating user-centered designs, developing wireframes and prototypes, and conducting user testing to ensure seamless user experiences. The role involves close collaboration with researchers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate needs into functional and visually appealing interfaces.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in user interface (UI) design, user experience (UX) design, and creating interactive prototypes
• Strong understanding of wireframing tools and design software such as Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch
• Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and analyzing user feedback
• Knowledge in responsive design principles, accessibility standards, and user behavior analytics
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate design ideas effectively
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Previous experience in healthcare or scientific research settings is an added advantage
• Degree or background in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or a related field is preferred
