DevOps Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a Contract with a client in McLean, VA. The position focuses on creating automated CI/CD pipelines, integrating deployment utilities, and adapting advanced features like blue‑green deployments.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

DevOps Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Build and maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines using scripted automation and integrate them with key DevOps tools such as Bitbucket, JFrog, and ServiceNow.
• Manage installation, upgrades, migrations, and operations of core DevOps platforms including Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira, and JFrog.
• Support Kubernetes environments (EKS) by managing clusters, pods, containers, and service mesh components like Istio, ensuring reliable deployments.
• Implement advanced deployment strategies such as blue‑green deployments and automate infrastructure/database provisioning through utility pipelines.
• Monitor systems and troubleshoot issues using tools like Kibana, Vault, Kiali, Rancher, pgAdmin, and other DevOps utilities.
• Coordinate Autosys job configurations, integrate them into pipelines, and ensure adherence to ITIL processes including incident, change, and problem management.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
• 8–10 years of professional experience in DevOps engineering, CI/CD automation, and cloud‑based deployment workflows.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Jenkins, Bitbucket, JFrog, Kubernetes (EKS), and key DevOps/ITIL tools used for automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience implementing advanced deployment strategies (e.g., blue‑green), integrating pipelines with infrastructure components, and managing tool installations, upgrades, and migrations.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $56.00 per hour
