Air Liquide Canada is seeking a Regional Engineer for the filling plants located in Western Canada. Based in Calgary, this is a critical role focused on analyzing and enhancing our regional filling processes and operational workflows. You will assume the role of Technical Leader and be the driving force behind our continuous improvement initiatives, responsible for identifying inefficiencies, implementing innovative solutions, and managing projects that boost productivity, ensure compliance, and reduce costs. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset. Industrial Management System: Support the filling plants to ensure that they are meeting the requirements of the Industrial Management System (IMS) and monitor the KPIs through the Industrial Strategy. Ensure adherence to best practices for the management of a filling plant (see Technical Reference Manual)
Management of Change and Technical Support: Work closely with plant operators, maintenance teams, and management to gather insights, build consensus, and successfully evaluate and implement changes on the plant floor. Provide troubleshooting support in the case of breakdowns and other plant issues that require escalation.
Lead engineering projects from concept to completion. This includes developing project scopes, creating budgets, managing timelines, and overseeing the installation and commissioning of new equipment or modified systems. The engineer will also report progress for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Process Optimization: Analyze existing gas filling, handling, and distribution processes to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement data-driven strategies to increase throughput, reduce cycle times, and minimize product loss.
Technical Design & Analysis: Ensure that all steps of the design validation process are followed which may include: Preparing preliminary and engineered designs, drawings, and specifications for process modifications. Contribute in design reviews with other team members
Safety & Compliance: Champion a world-class safety culture. Ensure all process improvements and plant operations adhere to provincial regulations (e.g., ABSA, OHS), industry codes (e.g., CSA standards), and internal safety protocols. Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), contribute to risk assessments and investigate non-compliance situations.

Are you a MATCH?
Required: Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
Required: Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA and in good standing.
2 - 5 years of engineering experience (as a P.Eng.) in a process manufacturing, industrial plant, or production environment.
Direct experience in the compressed gas, cryogenics, chemical processing, or oil and gas industry is a strong asset.
Demonstrated success in leading process improvement projects with measurable results in efficiency, safety, or cost savings.
Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
