Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Stone Fabricator / CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role focuses on fabrication of quartz, porcelain, granite, and marble, including the use of INTERMAC CNC polishing and fabrication equipment.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on fabrication experience, can read shop drawings, and takes pride in producing high-quality finished products in a fast-paced shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Finishing

• Cut, polish, fabricate, and finish natural and engineered stone slabs (granite, quartz, marble, porcelain)
• Shape and smooth edges using polishing tools and fabrication equipment
• Assemble mitred edges, build-ups, and pre-cut components
• Perform precision grinding, edging, and surface finishing

CNC Operation

• Set up, program, and operate CNC machines (INTERMAC) for polishing
• Interpret CAD drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
• Perform drilling, edging, and finishing operations with high accuracy
• Monitor machine operations and adjust settings as required
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting

Quality Control & Inspection

• Inspect finished pieces to ensure accuracy, quality, and tolerance compliance
• Follow shop drawings and specifications to complete custom orders
• Identify and correct defects or inconsistencies

Material Handling & Shop Support

• Help load and unload stone slabs safely
• Assist with moving materials using proper equipment
• Maintain tools, adhesives, and fabrication equipment
• Keep workspace clean, organized, and safe

Team & Safety

• Follow all company safety procedures and shop standards
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines
• Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in stone fabrication
• Experience cutting, polishing, and fabricating quartz, granite, marble, and porcelain
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints
• Hands-on experience with fabrication tools (grinders, polishers, saws, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and measurement accuracy
• Good communication skills in English (spoken and written)
• Physically capable of lifting and handling heavy materials

CNC Requirements:

• 3+ years of CNC machine operation in the stone industry
• Experience with INTERMAC CNC machines (required)
• Experience with other CNC machines (asset)
• Ability to read CAD files and technical drawings
• Knowledge of CNC programming and stone processing techniques

Assets:

• Forklift or overhead crane experience
• Installation experience (stone countertops or large pieces)
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
