Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the General Supervisor, Communication, you will be part of the Community Relations Department. You will ensure that social media activities are aligned with divisional priorities, reputation objectives, and corporate brand standards.

You will lead editorial planning, publishing decisions, community management, and performance analysis. In close collaboration with the Digital Content Producer, you will ensure that content strategies, formats, timing, and platform choices are informed by data, best practices, and audience insights, while translating business and communication objectives into effective social media execution.

  • Own and maintain the annual social media planning, including objectives, audiences, platform roles, and success indicators.
  • Develop and oversee the editorial calendar and publishing plan, ensuring alignment with divisional priorities, campaigns, and key moments.
  • Define publishing cadence, recommended posting times, and platform mix based on performance data, audience behavior, and platform best practices.
  • Lead daily social media publishing and community management, including drafting and posting content.
  • Conduct ongoing social media monitoring, competitive analysis, and trend scanning to identify risks, opportunities, and optimization levers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Digital Content Producer to brief content needs, align creative execution with strategy, and prioritize weekly and campaign driven content.
  • Work with internal teams to identify stories, validate messages, and ensure consistent and accurate communication.
  • Prepare and deliver performance reporting, including monthly dashboards, campaign summaries, and an annual social media report with insights and recommendations.
  • Use analytics and insights to inform decisions related to content strategy, timing, formats, and audience targeting.
  • Monitor platform updates, algorithm changes, and emerging best practices, and translate them into clear guidance for content and publishing.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate brand standards, governance frameworks, and applicable policies across all social media activities.
  • Lead influencer collaborations related to social media campaigns, including identification, outreach, coordination, and performance evaluation.
  • Contribute to write and publish blog and newsletter content as part of integrated communication campaigns, ensuring that stories are deployed coherently across social media and internal channels using a coordinated, multi‑channel approach.
  • Other related communication duties as assigned.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in communication and social media.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute social media strategies across multiple platforms.
  • Strong editorial judgment and writing skills, with a solid understanding of brand voice, reputation management, and audience targeting.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using social media analytics and management tools to inform decisions.
  • Experience managing paid social media campaigns and interpreting performance data.
  • Comfort operating in complex, regulated, or reputation sensitive environments.
  • Inuktitut knowledge is considered a strong asset.

Note that the official working language at our Nunavut operations is English.

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Mirabel, Toronto, Rankin Inlet, Cambridge Bay, Baker Lake. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
