About the role
An exciting new and unique opportunity has become available for a Business & Reporting Analyst to join our Energy Assets team within our Commercial Partnering & Integrated planning division
You will be responsible for partnering with Finance Managers & business stakeholders across our sites to enhance performance and decision making across AGL’s Energy Assets portfolio by delivering high-quality reporting, commercial insights, analytical support and process improvements.
The role can be based in either Melbourne or at AGL Loy Yang in Traralgon.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with AGL Group Finance, IT, Data & Analytics and Automation teams to improve datasets, reporting layers and automation opportunities.
- Deliver data driven insights in areas such as inventory, operating costs and closure planning.
- Enhance and standardise reporting capability through enterprise supported analytics and dashboards.
- Provide driver-based variance analysis and highlight performance trends, risks and opportunities.
- Identify processes suitable for simplification, standardisation or automation.
- Build strong working relationships with Finance and Operational teams across all Energy Asset sites.
About you
You are an experienced Business/Reporting Analyst who can build data driven reports in Power BI and present/communicate them to a wide audience. Your prior experience working with Finance teams and your understanding of financial statements and key financial metrics will set you up for success in this role.
In addition to the above, you will have:
- Experience using dashboards and enterprise reporting tools for insight generation.
- Experience in process mapping, redesign and supporting automation initiatives.
- A background in reporting, planning or performance insight in asset intensive environments.
- Ability to work effectively with technical IT/Data teams.
- Proficiency with enterprise analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud, Qlik).
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics are highly regarded.
