Role Overview

As a DAL Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of data annotation and labeling projects that power AI and machine learning systems. You will oversee teams, workflows, and quality standards to ensure scalable, high-quality outputs across multiple data types (text, audio, image, and video). Your role is critical in bridging operations, technology, and client expectations to drive successful AI model development.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full lifecycle of data annotation and labeling (DAL) projects—from onboarding to delivery

Lead, coach, and support distributed annotation teams to meet productivity and quality targets

Design and implement workflows, guidelines, and QA frameworks for annotation tasks

Monitor project performance (KPIs, SLAs, accuracy, turnaround time) and drive continuous improvement

Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to align on requirements and deliverables

Conduct audits, quality reviews, and root cause analysis to address performance gaps

Ensure adherence to data security, confidentiality, and compliance standards

Optimize processes using AI tools, automation, and best practices in annotation operations

Manage resource planning, staffing, and scheduling across multiple projects

Provide regular reporting and insights on project performance and risks

Qualifications

Proven experience in project management within data annotation, AI/ML, BPO, or operations environments

Strong leadership experience managing remote or distributed teams

Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Ability to interpret complex project guidelines and translate them into scalable workflows

Strong communication skills for client-facing and cross-functional collaboration

Tech-savvy with experience using annotation platforms, dashboards, and project management tools

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving environment

Required Experience

Data annotation / labeling / AI training project management

Quality assurance (QA) frameworks and performance management

Workforce management (capacity planning, scheduling, forecasting)

Client or stakeholder management in a delivery-driven environment

Familiarity with ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition), TTS (Text-to-Speech), NLP, or computer vision workflows

Language Proficiency

Native or near-native fluency in English (additional languages are a plus)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to interpret linguistic nuances, accents, and contextual meaning (preferred)

Preferred Skills

Experience scaling annotation operations across large teams or global programs

Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making

Familiarity with AI-assisted annotation tools and automation strategies

Experience building SOPs, playbooks, and training programs

Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and consistency
