About the Role

We're hiring an AI Engineer early in their career who wants to grow fast. You'll work directly alongside our Founding AI Lead and VP of Ecommerce, Finance & Operations with a clear mandate: use AI-native development to solve business problems faster and smarter than a traditional engineering team ever could.

Location: Remote / Global — In-House or Freelance considered for the right person

What You’ll Build

You'll be the person who determines how AFLALO sees and understands itself as a business - building the infrastructure, tools, and automations that turn raw data into real decisions across finance, operations, and beyond.

• Data infrastructure - one source of truth for the entire business. Every data source - commerce, production, financials, etc. - consolidated into a clean, scalable layer the whole team can easily query and trust
• Financial tooling - get the team out of Google Sheets. Automated forecasting and planning tools that are real-time and actually reflect how the business moves
• Operational automation - agents that run the business while no one's watching. Inventory restocking, workflow triggers, exception handling - if it's repetitive, it shouldn't require a human

What We're Looking For

• You ship using AI-native tools - Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent are part of your daily workflow, not occasional assists
• You can take a business problem with no tech spec and turn it into a working solution
• You're comfortable with databases and APIs - you've built integrations, worked with SQL or Postgres, and know how to move data reliably between systems
• You think in systems - architecture, data integrity, and maintainability matter to you
• You write clean code that someone else (or future you) will want to work with
• You're comfortable in ambiguity and energized by ownership
• Experience level matters less than output
