Job Description

Headline Studio is on the lookout for a talented Narrative Producer who is eager to research, develop, and create captivating, narrative-driven projects that stem from the award-winning journalism of Advance Local. If you're passionate about transforming in-depth stories into dynamic content across film, television, and audio, we want you!

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $95,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and research stories inspired by reporting from Advance Local's newsrooms nationwide.
• Collaborate with the team to craft storylines, character arcs, and narrative structures.
• Assist throughout the entire story production process, from concept to final delivery.
• Utilize Asana to manage tasks, deadlines, and ensure smooth content flow.
• Prepare engaging pitch materials and production documents.
• Design, publish, and maintain content using WordPress.
• Support multimedia projects with AI tools and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
• Write clear and compelling synopses, treatments, and story pitches.
• Uphold Advance Local's journalistic standards throughout the production process.
• Work closely with newsroom editors, journalists, creative teams, and external partners.
• Communicate effectively to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, film/TV production, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least five years of experience in storytelling within entertainment or journalism.
• Exceptional writing skills with a proven ability to turn factual reporting into engaging narratives.
• Proficiency in WordPress, AI tools, Asana, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to collaborate across departments.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated passion for journalism, storytelling, and connecting audiences with impactful content.
• Experience in entertainment storytelling or journalism is a plus.
