Stable Medical Device Company looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team!
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our growing medical device organization. This role will be responsible for managing cost accounting functions within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, deep manufacturing experience, and a CPA license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocations
- Analyze manufacturing costs, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve profitability
- Partner with operations to monitor production costs, inventory levels, and efficiencies
- Maintain and update standard costs and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory and cost-related journal entries
- Support financial close processes related to inventory and cost accounting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning related to manufacturing costs
- Support audits and provide required documentation for internal and external auditors
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements related to cost accounting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA license preferred
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device or regulated industry preferred)
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
- Experience with ERP systems
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience supporting audits in a regulated industry
