Massive data volume + complex business rules in a highly distributed and service oriented architecture, a world class information collection and delivery challenge. Our challenge is to deliver the software systems which accurately capture, process, and report on the huge volume of financial transactions that are generated each day as millions of customers make purchases, as thousands of Vendors and Partners are paid, as inventory moves in and out of warehouses, as commissions are calculated, and as taxes are collected in hundreds of jurisdictions worldwide.
Key job responsibilities
The right candidate will possess a strong program management skills, has experience leading large projects, and has a well-rounded technical background in current technologies. As a Technical Program Manager, your responsibilities will include writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. You will lead design and implementation efforts, coordinating across multiple teams to develop optimal solutions. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, destroy limits to scale, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives while rolling up your sleeves to get the job done. You will need to partner with customers in Tech and Finance, and influence the direction of multiple engineering teams within the org to deliver complex/cross-functional projects.
A day in the life
Build strategic roadmaps by driving consensus among Product and Tech teams, be a catalyst in multiple feature prioritization and fast-track decision making, that impact the different stages of product lifecycle.
Establish mechanisms that promote agility and engineering excellence through continuous iterations.
Coordinate the resource planning, execution and delivery of projects on the roadmap.
Help develop, improve and share operational best practices across the teams and with peers globally.
Manage program-level schedules and milestones, while maintaining alignment with multiple competing goals by negotiating and exhibiting ‘influence over authority’.
Assess and manage risks, define and measure success metrics, anticipate and resolve bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance what customer needs with the technical constraints.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
