Highway Site Engineer (Roads)

Purpose/Objective

Highway Site Engineer (Roads) supervises daily highway construction activities, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Coordinate with subcontractors, manage resources efficiently, document progress, and report to superiors to achieve project targets and maintain smooth execution.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Project Supervision: - Responsible for day-to-day execution of Highway works including Drain, Earthwork, Reinforced Earth Wall (RE Wall), GSB (Granular Sub-base), WMM (Wet Mix Macadam), DBM (Dense Bituminous Macadam), BC (Bituminous Concrete), DLC (Dry Lean Concrete), and PQC (Pavement Quality Concrete) as per approved drawings and plans.

• Provide effective supervision to ensure work is carried out in accordance with contract specifications and approved methodologies.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to achieve monthly targets and ensure timely progress.
• Ensure safety procedures are strictly followed as per approved Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Plan.
• Maintain work quality and conduct frequency tests as per Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) standards and approved Quality Assurance Plans (QAP).

Documentation and Reporting: - Submit timely materials requirements to the Planning In-charge or Section In-charge.

• Coordinate with Independent Engineers to conduct or witness tests as required by contract specifications.
• Maintain a system for raising and closing Request for Information (RFI), ensuring timely completion of quality test reports and level records.
• Report daily progress, RFIs, issues, etc.

Resource Management: - Optimize resource utilization to achieve targeted production efficiently.

• Certify subcontractors' bills and maintain reconciliation records for free issue materials.
• Interact daily with clients, consultants, and subcontract and supervise their activities.
