About the roleThe Airport Firefighter is responsible for rapid response to aircraft incidents, structural fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous material situations on airport premises. The role ensures the safety of passengers, crew, and airport staff through effective firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services.Key responsibilitiesRespond promptly to aircraft emergencies, structural fires, medical incidents, and hazardous material events.Extinguish fires using water, foam, dry chemicals, and other agents.Conduct search and rescue operations in smoke‑filled or hazardous environments.Provide first aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) until advanced medical personnel arrive.Maintain daily inspections and readiness of fire trucks, extinguishers, and personal protective equipment.Participate in ICAO‑mandated training, fire drills, and emergency simulations.Document incidents, training records, and shift logs for regulatory audits.Required profileAbility to adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and follow Standard Operating Procedures.Capability to operate firefighting equipment and perform rescue tasks under stressful conditions.Required skillsFirefighting techniques (water, foam, dry chemicals).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Hazardous material response handling.
