Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Summer Student to join our team as a Livestock & Farm Labourer. This role is primarily focused on animal care and general farm work, with additional responsibilities supporting groundskeeping, greenhouse tasks, and occasional help on the retail side of the farm.
This is a physically active, outdoor position ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals and wants to gain practical agricultural experience.
Key Responsibilities
Livestock Care
- Assist with daily care of sheep, pygmy goats, highland cows, chickens, ponies, and donkeys
- Feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, and general animal husbandry tasks
- Monitor animal health and report concerns to supervisors
Farm & Groundskeeping
- Perform yard work including lawn care, gardening, tilling, planting, and general upkeep
- Assist with fence repairs and property maintenance
Greenhouse Support
- Help with planting, watering, pruning, and maintaining plant health
Equipment Operation
- Operate small farm equipment in a safe and controlled manner (training provided)
Retail Support (Occasional)
- Assist customers and support retail operations during busy periods
What You’ll Gain

Qualifications

- Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions
- Previous farm or livestock experience is an asset but not required
