Sales Engineer -- Automotive Parts Manufacturer (33698)

A global automotive parts manufacturing company in the Novi, MI area is looking for a motivated Sales Engineer. (Onsite position.) The ideal candidate would have at least 1 year of experience in technical/industrial sales or automotive industry experience.

Sales Engineer Responsibilities:

• Establish relations with new and previous customers
• New business development with OEMs and Tier Suppliers
• Promote automotive bearings/hydraulics products and company itself
• Intelligently communicate with clients
• Responsible for price/contract negotiations
• Travel to customer locations and prepare reports and compile data
• Make presentations to and attend meetings with client managers and engineers.
• Understand specifications for products for customer design assistance
• Responsible for conducting marketing activities including market research, competitor analysis, and benchmarking etc.
• Create data, budgets, and reports regarding sales and marketing activity.
• Other Duties as assigned by Management.

Sales Engineer Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
• Minimum 1 year of customer interaction or sales experience
• Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time in North Americas
• Must have excellent presentation skills
• Experience with working in a Japanese related environment is a plus
• Some engineering knowledge or technical support or automotive industrial experience is required
• This position will not support visa sponsorships
• This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
