Production Assistant (Animation)

Job Summary

I'm a one-man animation studio, seeking an in-person Production Assistant who knows their way around After Effects and Premiere, and can help with occasional green screen video shoots. You'll mainly be working on a new personal project of mine: an Adult Swim-style animated series that combines sock puppets with 2D animation, stop motion, VFX, and other experimental visual styles. I also make educational cartoons for clients like BrainPOP, Flocabulary, and Newsela.

We'll work at my home office in Crown Heights. You'll have a dedicated desk, Mac desktop computer, and iPad Pro.

Duties

• After Effects: masking, rotoscoping, keying out green screen footage, working with the motion tracker tool.
• Premiere Pro: basic video & audio editing.
• Assist with green screen video shoots.
• Maintain organized project files and adhere to established workflows.
• Assist in the development of reference images, storyboards, and animatics.

Must Have

• Working knowledge of After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop. I can show you some things if you need some brushing up on certain tasks, but you should be able to jump into an existing project and find your way around.
• Ability to edit video and audio, with an ear for humor and punchy dialogue.

Nice to Have

• Illustration / drawing skills, using an iPad or tablet. (This is VERY nice to have!)
• Social media strategy (TikTok, YouTube).
• Acting, voiceover.
• Scriptwriting, script editing.
• Know your way around a camera, studio lighting, green screen video shoots.
• Experience in audio production.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
