About Us  Jefferson Classical Academy of Oregon is a tuition-free online public school serving students in grades K–8. By combining a rigorous classical curriculum with modern virtual flexibility, we help students develop moral character and civic virtue while mastering the fundamentals of a liberal arts education. ACCEL Schools uses a cutting-edge 21st-century curriculum, which can be accessed online and through a variety of traditional methods.   Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.  Eligibility: Open to residents of Oregon  About the Opportunity  <ul> <li>Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in all core content areas and grade levels </li> <li>Relentlessly work to meet all goals related to student achievement and culture as well as state specific academic accountability goals </li> <li>Deliver highly effective live lessons via web conference based on student need, rooted in research-based instructional practices </li> <li>Complete course set up for each course within the Learning Management System </li> <li>Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide feedback/grade assignments daily </li> <li>Track and maintain contact with each student </li> <li>Collaborate with Principal to create and deliver Progress Reports of Students </li> <li>Review student level data frequently to inform instructional program adjustments </li> <li>Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students </li> <li>Utilize research-based best practices in both synchronous and asynchronous instruction </li> <li>Create a joyful, caring, and loving classroom environment for all students </li> <li>Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues </li> <li>Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms, inside the classroom and beyond </li> <li>Communicate regularly with families regarding the academic and social-emotional growth of their child </li> <li>Incorporate 21st century technology skills into daily classroom practice and team settings </li> <li>Participate in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips and attend these events in person </li> <li>Collaborate and communicate effectively, humbly, and respectfully with all colleagues </li> <li>Travel to support required face-to-face state testing annually </li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned </li> </ul> About You  <ul> <li>Current State teaching license in appropriate content area </li> <li>Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards </li> <li>Preferred two years’ experience teaching </li> <li>High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring </li> <li>High quality written and verbal communication skills </li> <li>High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook </li> <li>Ability to properly manage confidential information </li> <li>Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time </li> <li>Ability to supervise students in all school settings </li> <li>Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks </li> <li>Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred </li> </ul> About Us  “We believe that every child should be able to be anything they want in life, regardless of their birthplace and circumstances.” – Ron Packard, CEO & Founder  ACCEL Schools is a network of 80+ high-performing, public charter schools serving PK-12 students.
