About the Team The Virtual Preparatory Academy of Georgia is a statewide tuition-free online program serving grades K-12. Our online program curriculum offers rich and engaging content carefully designed to meet the standards required by the state of Georgia. At Virtual Preparatory Academy of Georgia, students are engaged in academics, participating in various activities and assessments appropriate to the courses being studied, including labs, journals, written assignments, discussions, group and individual projects, formative assessments, objective tests, and written exams.  Working in cooperation with appropriate district supervisors, teachers, parents and students, the Speech Language Pathologist shall be responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language and hearing disorders, helping students to adjust and access the general education curriculum. Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events. font-size: 12pt;">Conduct standard and non-standardized assessments, analyze results and write reports to determine strengths and concerns in the areas of motor speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, literacy, and dysphagia</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop treatment plans that are strengths-based as well as child and family-centered</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ensure that IEP, Evaluation and progress monitoring procedures adhere to the district, state and federal guidelines</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Comply with the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) that impact speech-language pathologists</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Initiate, participate in and follow through on MET/IEP procedures as appropriate</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ensure that all speech-language evaluations for initial referrals and re-evaluations are conducted within the required timelines</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop goals and objectives for each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) with teachers, staff, and parents that are aligned with core standards</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Provide speech-language services as indicated on each student’s IEP</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Maintain accurate, timely records of progress and service</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Report progress to parents as scheduled in students’ IEPs</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate in the development of the Review of Existing Evaluation Data (REED) and Evaluation Plan for three (3) year re-evaluations</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Initiates and maintains on-going communication with parents and staff to assist with the understanding of speech-language development, evaluation results, and student performance and concerns</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collect on-going data and adapt treatment accordingly based on trends in student performance</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Attend IEP and Evaluation meetings and provide necessary documentation for team to review in a timely manner</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with classroom teachers and all other members of a student’s educational team</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrate knowledge of academic standards; aligning them with treatment objectives</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop, follow, and communicate a daily schedule to building leaders and department supervisors</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and pursue professional development in maintenance of state board licensure and for addressing student and caseload needs</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Facilitate effective student communication abilities across all modes and levels of language</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Participate in building-based intervention processes to support students and teachers</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">A master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Must hold an active Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of Georgia</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office Suite, Google applications, e-mail, and internet applications; excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong content knowledge in one or more content areas</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Exhibit genuine care for children and a passion for teaching</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;
