<p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>About the Team</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">The Virtual Preparatory Academy of Georgia is a statewide tuition-free online program serving grades K-12. Our online program curriculum offers rich and engaging content carefully designed to meet the standards required by the state of Georgia. At Virtual Preparatory Academy of Georgia, students are engaged in academics, participating in various activities and assessments appropriate to the courses being studied, including labs, journals, written assignments, discussions, group and individual projects, formative assessments, objective tests, and written exams.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Working in cooperation with appropriate district supervisors, teachers, parents and students, the Speech Language Pathologist shall be responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language and hearing disorders, helping students to adjust and access the general education curriculum.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><em>Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.</em></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Provide high quality virtual speech-language therapy services to a wide variety of students in grades K-12 in Georgia</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Conduct standard and non-standardized assessments, analyze results and write reports to determine strengths and concerns in the areas of motor speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, literacy, and dysphagia</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop treatment plans that are strengths-based as well as child and family-centered</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ensure that IEP, Evaluation and progress monitoring procedures adhere to the district, state and federal guidelines</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Comply with the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) that impact speech-language pathologists</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Initiate, participate in and follow through on MET/IEP procedures as appropriate</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ensure that all speech-language evaluations for initial referrals and re-evaluations are conducted within the required timelines</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop goals and objectives for each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) with teachers, staff, and parents that are aligned with core standards</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Provide speech-language services as indicated on each student’s IEP</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Maintain accurate, timely records of progress and service</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Report progress to parents as scheduled in students’ IEPs</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate in the development of the Review of Existing Evaluation Data (REED) and Evaluation Plan for three (3) year re-evaluations</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Initiates and maintains on-going communication with parents and staff to assist with the understanding of speech-language development, evaluation results, and student performance and concerns</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collect on-going data and adapt treatment accordingly based on trends in student performance</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Attend IEP and Evaluation meetings and provide necessary documentation for team to review in a timely manner</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with classroom teachers and all other members of a student’s educational team</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;
