Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and energetic After-School Counselor to support students in a structured, engaging, and safe after-school program. The ideal candidate will supervise students, facilitate activities, and ensure a positive environment that aligns with the school’s mission and values.

Job Type: Part-time

• Work Hours: Between 1:30 -6:00 pm

Specific Roles and Responsibilities:

Core Instructional Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times.
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, including academic support, recreational games, and enrichment opportunities.
• Provide guidance and support to students, helping them develop social skills and positive behaviors.
• Assist students with homework and academic enrichment activities.
• Maintain a structured and engaging after-school environment.
• Take attendance daily and ensure students are accounted for at all times.
• Provide snacks to students and ensure all food-related activities follow safety and cleanliness guidelines.

Core Professional Responsibilities

• Report any behavioral incidents, accidents, or injuries to the front office to ensure proper communication with parents.
• Work collaboratively with the after-school program team.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as required.
• Adhere to all child abuse reporting requirements/laws.

Required Qualifications:

• Prospective assistant teachers must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Preferably, they will also have work or volunteer experience working with children.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
