System Administrator - Linux/Windows Server

Job Title : System AdministratorLocation : BangaloreExperience : 25 YearsJob Summary : We are looking for a skilled System Administrator to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of servers, networks, and systems.The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and good communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams.Key Responsibilities : - Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of IT infrastructure- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies through Active Directory and Group Policies- Perform regular system updates, patch management, and security checks- Manage virtualization environments and ensure optimal performance- Configure and maintain firewall systems and network security- Troubleshoot system, network, and application issues in a timely manner- Handle high-impact system changes and ensure minimal downtime- Maintain system documentation and SOPs- Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders for infrastructure support.Core Skills Required : Active Directory (AD) : - User & group management- OU design and delegation- Group Policy (GPO) creation and troubleshooting- AD replication and health checks- DNS & DHCP integration- AD hardening and security best practicesADFS (Federation Services) : - Installation and configuration of ADFS- Claims-based authentication- SSO integration (SAML / OAuth / OIDC)- Trust relationships (Relying Party Trusts)- Certificate management- Troubleshooting login / federation issuesProxy / Web Gateway (Sophos, Zscaler, Bluecoat, Squid) : - Proxy configuration and policy management- URL filtering and access control- SSL inspection (HTTPS decryption)- Authentication integration with AD- Troubleshooting user access issues- Logging and traffic monitoringFortiGate Firewall : - Firewall policy configuration (L3/L7)- NAT, VIP, and routing setup- VPN configuration (SSL VPN, IPsec VPN)- Web filtering and application control- IPS/IDS configuration- Firmware upgrades and patching- Log analysis (FortiAnalyzer is a plus)Additional Required Skills : - Strong experience in Windows Server & Linux (RedHat/Ubuntu)- Proficiency in virtualization platforms- Patch management and system security- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills- Ability to handle high-impact changes and complex incidents (ref: hirist.tech)
