POSITION TITLE: ABA THERAPIST/ HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMIC TUTOR (Part-Time)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, positive, and reliable ABA Therapist to join our team. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping adolescents develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and independently.

The ideal candidate will combine evidence-based ABA strategies with strong academic support, helping students build executive functioning skills, improve focus, establish effective study habits, complete homework, and develop greater independence.

Schedule: After School, Monday to Friday (part-time hours)

Role Profile

Provide individualized one-on-one ABA therapy and academic support to students in home and/or community settings. The primary focus of this role is to strengthen executive functioning skills while supporting homework completion, study habits, organization, attention, and academic achievement across high school subjects.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized after-school ABA therapy and academic tutoring to high school students.
  • Support the development of executive functioning skills, including organization, planning, time management, task initiation, and task completion.
  • Assist students with homework, studying, assignment planning, and test preparation.
  • Implement behaviour strategies that improve attention, motivation, self-regulation, and independence during academic tasks.
  • Develop and reinforce effective study habits and learning strategies.
  • Collect data and monitor student progress toward individualized goals.
  • Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with other professionals when appropriate.
  • Prepare learning materials and adapt instruction to meet each student's unique learning profile.
  • Foster a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with adolescents with autism or other neurodiverse learners.
  • Strong understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles and their application.
  • Experience supporting executive functioning, behavioural skill development, and self regulation.
  • Ability to provide academic tutoring at the high school level across core academic subjects.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, dependable, flexible, and committed to providing consistent, high-quality support.
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Child & Youth Studies, Behavioural Science, or a related field.
  • Certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science, RBT certification, or equivalent ABA training.
  • Previous experience as an ABA Therapist, Behaviour Therapist, Educational Assistant, Special Education Teacher, or Academic Tutor.
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation.
