Freelance Motion Designer / Animator

8AM Creative is looking for a talented freelance Motion Graphics Designer & Animator to support a wide range of client projects. You can find some of our work samples here:

We’re seeking someone who can create polished, professional animations across different formats and styles—from short-form social media content and digital ads to brand videos, product explainers, presentations, and longer-form animated content.

This is a freelance contractor position with project-based work and the potential for an ongoing relationship.

What You’ll Do

• Create high-quality motion graphics and animations for digital marketing campaigns, social media, websites, presentations, and video content
• Animate existing brand assets while maintaining established visual identities
• Develop motion styles, illustration systems, and animation concepts for brands that don’t yet have a defined visual direction
• Collaborate with creative directors, designers, strategists, and copywriters
• Prepare assets for multiple formats and platforms
• Manage projects efficiently and communicate timelines clearly

What We’re Looking For

• Strong portfolio demonstrating motion graphics, animation, and visual storytelling
• Ability to work across multiple visual styles and industries
• Experience following brand guidelines and maintaining consistency
• Ability to create and evolve illustration and animation styles when needed
• Strong design fundamentals, including typography, composition, color, and pacing
• Excellent attention to detail
• Reliable communication and responsiveness
