Cashier/Customer Service Representative

Duties

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide product information or demos as needed
• Manage cash handling responsibilities with precision, including balancing cash drawers at shift end
• Assist with merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Support upselling efforts by suggesting additional items or promotions to enhance customer purchases
• Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Perform basic retail math calculations for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Prior supervising experience is a plus for leading team members during shifts
• Ability to conduct product demos confidently and clearly communicate features and benefits
• Bilingual skills to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Strong communication skills to engage customers and collaborate with team members
• Knowledge of grocery store operations and retail sales practices
• Experience in merchandising, stocking, and retail math calculations
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
