Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Sommelier to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in wine knowledge, and is committed to providing exceptional guest experiences. This role collaborates with the service and culinary teams to enhance the overall dining experience through thoughtful wine pairings and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and maintaining the wine list and cellar inventory
- Recommend wines to guests based on preferences, menu selections, and pairing principles
- Serve wine in accordance with proper etiquette and service standards
- Educate guests and staff on wine offerings, regions, and pairings
- Participate in regular tastings, staff trainings, and vendor meetings
- Monitor wine storage conditions and ensure the proper care of inventory
- Support service staff during floor shifts, contributing to a seamless and polished dining experience
- Stay informed on wine trends, new producers, and vintages
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in a fine dining or wine-focused restaurant
- Strong foundational knowledge of wines, regions, and varietals particularly the region of Mendoza, Argentina
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A genuine passion for hospitality and a desire to grow within the field
- Certification from WSET or CMS (Level 2 minimum preferred)
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Professional demeanor and attention to detail
