Business Analyst/QA Engineer Jobs

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Business Analyst / QA Engineer to support a mission-critical federal program in Ashburn, VA . This hybrid role is ideal for a candidate with strong analytical skills, hands-on automated testing experience, and an active DHS or Top Secret Clearance . You will play a key role in translating business needs into technical requirements, developing automated test scripts, and ensuring validated, compliant software delivery within an Agile environment

Key Responsibilities

• Document clear, testable requirements as user stories with acceptance criteria .
• Develop test cases and maintain a requirements traceability matrix .
• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to validate functionality, performance, and efficiency.
• Support operations and help desk functions during absences or surge periods.
• Ensure Section 508 compliance considerations during requirements definition and testing.
• Contribute to program documentation including weekly status reports, monthly progress reports, and stakeholder briefings.

Required Qualifications

• Active DHS Clearance or Top Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of specialized experience in business analysis and/or QA.
• Experience gathering and refining requirements with stakeholders and technical SMEs.
• Proficiency in writing user stories , acceptance criteria, and test cases.
• Experience developing traceability matrices.
• Hands-on experience executing test cases and recording test results.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, JMeter, TestRigor , or comparable frameworks.
• Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies .
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite .
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000
• Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, and any applicable sick leave.
