Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Python Developer to join a Federal Program working remotely. The Python Developer will have deep expertise in Python, FastAPI,SQLAlchemy, containerized deployments (Docker), and cloud-native services, including AWS Bedrock and Anthropic Claude.

Responsibilities of the Python Developer:

  • Design, and develop Python-based microservices and backend applications using FastAPI
  • Build and optimize database models, queries, and transactions using SQLAlchemy
  • Develop and integrate Generative AI and RAG-based solutions using AWS Bedrock, Claude, and other LLM APIs
  • Containerize and deploy applications using Docker, with knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement secure, scalable, and maintainable API architectures
  • Integrate with cloud services (AWS preferred), including key services such as:
  • AWS Bedrock (LLM integration)
  • S3, Lambda, IAM, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager (as applicable)
  • Write clean, testable, scalable code and enforce best practices
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and performance tuning for high-availability systems
  • Provide mentorship to junior developers and conduct code reviews

Qualifications of the Python Developer:

  • 6+ years of professional experience in backend development with Python
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong experience with developing RESTFUL APIs using FastAPI
  • Strong experience with SQLAlchemy, relational databases like PostgreSQL, Oracle etc.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM integration, including AWS Bedrock and Claude
  • Proven experience building and deploying Dockerized applications
  • Strong understanding of API design patterns, scalability, and security practices
  • Experience with AWS architecture (
  • Familiarity with asynchronous programming (AsyncIO) and event-driven design
  • Ability to write unit/integration tests (PyTest or similar)
  • Git, CI/CD workflows, and code quality tooling

Compensation for the Python Developer:

  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000+ *flexible based on experience*
