Job Description – L2 Network Operations Engineer

Location: Toronto (On-site/Remote)

We are seeking an experienced L2 Network Operations Engineer to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure in a multinational environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day availability, stability, and performance of production networks across Data, Voice, and Contact Center services. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, ownership mindset, and hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for network incidents, troubleshooting, and patch management.
• Monitor and maintain production network environments to ensure high availability and performance.
• Participate in major incident management calls and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for outages.
• Support service restoration, sustainability initiatives, and proactive service improvements.
• Implement network changes involving LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, security, remote access, load balancing, and cloud connectivity.
• Manage lifecycle implementation projects and maintain technical documentation.
• Act as a technical point of contact for incidents, changes, and operational support activities.
• Utilize monitoring tools such as SolarWinds to identify and resolve network issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external partners for operational support.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience working with TCP/IP networking environments.
• Strong understanding of WAN technologies including SD-WAN, MPLS, VPNs, VRFs, DWDM, Frame Relay, and Point-to-Point connectivity.
• Hands-on experience with Aruba and Cisco network operating systems.
• Knowledge of networking infrastructure vendors and technologies including Aruba, Cisco, VeloCloud, and Zscaler.
• Experience with firewalls, load balancers, and network security concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Experience with monitoring and management tools like SolarWinds.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications Preferred

• CompTIA Network+
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
