Lead Platform Engineer (SRE) – Elasticsearch / ELK

We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer (SRE) to serve as the Elasticsearch SME in a DevOps-driven environment. This role focuses on designing, scaling, and operating enterprise-grade Elastic platforms across cloud and on-prem environments.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

Architect and deploy scalable Elasticsearch / ELK solutions for search, logs, metrics & observability

Build and manage multi-node clusters (cloud & on-prem)

Performance tuning (queries, indexing, shard rebalancing)

Capacity planning, upgrades, patching & migrations

Automate infrastructure using Terraform / Ansible / Python / Bash

Integrate Elastic with CI/CD, Kubernetes, cloud-native services

Create runbooks, dashboards (Kibana), KPIs & troubleshooting guides

Lead POCs (ML, cross-cluster replication, resilience initiatives)

✅ Mandatory Skills

3–5+ years hands-on Elasticsearch / ELK administration at scale

Deep expertise in Elasticsearch architecture (nodes, shards, replicas, APIs)

Strong automation & scripting: Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform

Experience with AWS / Azure / GCP

Kubernetes & Docker experience

Strong background in distributed systems, performance tuning & RCA

CI/CD experience (GitHub / GitLab)

Excellent communication & leadership skills

Elastic Certified Engineer / Observability Engineer

AWS or Azure certifications

Experience migrating Elasticsearch from on-prem to cloud

Security & compliance monitoring experience

Background in SRE or Software Engineering
