Summary

The Quality Assurance & Control Associate is responsible for aiding in the assurance that all WYLD products meet our standards for food safety and quality. You will help the Wyld QA team identify and mitigate any risks associated with product quality, safety and regulatory compliance, through the application of a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily walks and product quality checks
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements, food safety programs, and finished product specifications
  • Assist in HACCP plan and program adherence to safety and quality program and standards
  • Generate and evaluate trending reports from internal auditing programs
  • Conduct internal facility food safety audits and report out findings
  • Aid in identifying and addressing Quality Assurance needs based on state and federal regulations
  • Execute all Quality Assurance duties as assigned
  • Effectively communicate food safety and quality concerns within the department
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • 1+ years of experience in food safety, preferably in a regulated food manufacturing facility
  • HACCP certified or willing and able to obtain
  • Familiarity with CFIA regulations and rules as well as HACCP and GMP programs.
  • Must be willing to engage in ongoing professional development in food science, food safety, food ingredient functionality, quality assurance, quality control, and process and product development
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have good attention to detail and organizational skills with a deliberate and methodical work style
  • Must be able to perform basic visual quality inspections on products
  • Must possess the ability to perform basic tasks on computer programs such as google sheets and documents
  • Effectively communicate information and respond to questions/suggestions from various levels within the company
  • Possess advanced mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • ServSafe, Food Handler’s or FOODSAFE Level 1 card preferred
  • Provincial regulations require all applicants must be 19 years of age or older
  • Will be required to submit to a background check
  • Must obtain all government-required: permits, licenses, and certifications

Benefits

You'll receive a hourly rate of $27.50-32.50/hr. (CAD), 12 paid holidays, 120 hours vacation time, RRSP matching, and supplemental health, dental and vision insurance.
