The successful candidate must be self-motivated, technically skilled, highly organized, communicate clearly and have a proven ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Candidates’ work history must represent increased levels of responsibility on a progressive basis throughout their career.

The Process Piping QA Owner’s Representative is responsible for representing the owner’s interests in the quality oversight of process piping construction, installation, testing, inspection, and turnover activities for a semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facility. This role ensures that process piping systems are installed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, industry standards, cleanroom requirements, and owner expectations.

The position requires strong experience with high-purity and industrial process piping systems, including bulk gas, specialty gas, chemical, UPW, wastewater, process cooling water, compressed air, vacuum, exhaust-related piping interfaces, and tool install support.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee process piping QA/QC activities on behalf of the owner during fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover.

Review piping drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, submittals, inspection test plans, welding procedures, material certifications, and quality documentation.

Monitor contractor and subcontractor work to verify compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and owner standards.

Perform field inspections of process piping installations, including pipe routing, supports, hangers, slope, labeling, valves, fittings, welds, tubing, joints, and equipment connections.

Verify proper material control, traceability, storage, handling, cleanliness, and segregation of process piping materials.

Support inspection and documentation of welded, orbital-welded, brazed, threaded, flanged, compression, fusion-welded, and high-purity piping systems.

Review and verify pressure test packages, leak test results, hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, helium leak testing, flushing, passivation, drying, and cleanliness records.

Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, safety, operations, and tool install teams to resolve quality issues.

Track nonconformance reports, quality observations, punch list items, RFIs, field changes, and corrective actions through closure.

Participate in system walkdowns, pre-functional inspections, commissioning readiness reviews, and turnover package reviews.

Confirm contractors maintain complete and accurate turnover documentation, including test records, weld maps, material certs, inspection reports, redlines/as-builts, calibration records, and commissioning support documentation.

Identify risks to quality, safety, schedule, cleanliness, operability, or maintainability and escalate issues to owner leadership.

Support continuous improvement, lessons learned, and standardization of piping quality processes.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 7–10 years of process piping construction, QA/QC, commissioning, or owner’s representative experience.

Experience on semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data center, battery, chemical, petrochemical, cleanroom, or other advanced manufacturing projects preferred.

Strong knowledge of process piping installation practices, inspection requirements, and testing methods.

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, plan drawings, specifications, spool drawings, weld maps, test packages, and vendor documentation.

Familiarity with applicable codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASME BPE, AWS, SEMI standards, CGA, NFPA, and project-specific owner standards.

Experience with high-purity piping, stainless steel tubing, specialty gas, bulk gas, chemical distribution, UPW, PCW, CDA, vacuum, and wastewater systems preferred.

Knowledge of welding, orbital welding, fusion welding, brazing, mechanical joining, pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, passivation, and cleanliness requirements.

Strong documentation, communication, field inspection, and issue-resolution skills.

Ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers, inspectors, commissioning teams, safety personnel, and owner stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Semiconductor fab or cleanroom construction experience.

AWS CWI, API 570, ASME, NACE, OSHA 30, or equivalent quality/safety certification preferred.
