Full Stack Engineer

WS Technologies Inc. is the global leader in beacon testing technology, established in 2000 right here in Kelowna, BC.

As we continue to scale our technology to deliver advanced solutions to customers in the aviation, marine, military, and SAR markets, we’re adding a key position to our team to join this growth and move to our new state of the art facility.

We are seeking a developer to design and build a real-time, map-centric web application that visualizes live data streams and supports operational monitoring and analysis. The role involves both frontend user interface design and backend system development, with a focus on creating a reliable, responsive, and intuitive platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Design and develop a full-stack web application

· Create a clean, professional user interface for monitoring and data visualization

· Implement interactive map views and data dashboards

· Build and maintain backend services and APIs

· Integrate real-time data streams and event updates

· Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability

· Collaborate with internal engineering teams and stakeholders

· Document architecture and development practices

TOOLS & ENVIRONMENT

· PostgreSQL and Supabase for backend data services

· Mapbox or similar mapping platforms for geospatial visualization

· Twilio or similar services for messaging and notifications

· Modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)

· Backend development environments such as Node.js, .NET, or Python

· Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar)

· Docker and containerized workflows

· Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines

· REST and real-time APIs (WebSockets or similar)

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Experience with full-stack web development

· Strong frontend development skills and UI design sensibility

· Experience building scalable web applications

· Familiarity with SQL databases and API design

· Understanding of responsive and usable interface design

· Ability to work across both frontend and backend systems

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

· Building real-time or data-intensive applications

· Interactive mapping or geospatial visualization

· Cloud deployment and monitoring

· Performance optimization and system reliability

· Designing operational or monitoring dashboards
