The Role

Core Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning: Design multi-channel communication plans that align brand voice with business goals.
- Creative Production: Write and produce high-impact copy for social media; may include light website CMS work.
- Calendar Management: Create and manage the editorial roadmap to ensure a consistent, timely publishing cadence.
- Optimization: Implement SEO best practices and A/B-test content to improve reach and conversions.
- Analytics: Track KPIs and translate data into actionable insights to improve ROI.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years in digital content or social media strategy.
- Skills: Excellent storytelling matched with a data-driven mindset.
- Tech Capability: Proficiency in SEO tools, Google Analytics, and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress/HubSpot).
- Language: Exceptional English copywriting for social channels is required; the ability to write in French for social is a strong asset.
Budget and Timeline
The terms of the contract are as follows:
- Start by mid-July 2026
- $35/hour + GST/HST (if applicable)
- 270 hours total (~10 hours/week over six months)
- Flexible hours, with availability for a weekly 1-hour weekday team meeting between 1–5 pm ET (10 am–2 pm PT)
- Fully remote; based anywhere in Canada
Deliverables
Goal: To establish a sustainable content engine that increases engagement and provides measurable data on audience behaviour.
Phase 1: Audit & Foundation (First Month)
- Content Audit: Review the last 12 months of social/web performance to identify "high-impact" vs. "low-impact" topics.
- Analytics Setup: Ensure Google Analytics (GA4) and social tracking are correctly capturing conversion goals (e.g., newsletter sign-ups, applications page clicks).
- Persona Mapping: Define 2–3 key audience segments (e.g., Donors, Volunteers, Partners) to tailor messaging.
Phase 2: Execution & Calendar (Months 2 to 5)
- Calendar Management: Maintain a rolling 4-week editorial calendar across all channels (Social, Email, Web).
- Content Creation: Produce 4-7 social posts per week. Develop newsletter/email content if applicable.
- Optimization: Ongoing A/B testing of social media call-to-actions (CTAs) and of email subject lines.
Phase 3: Analysis & Offboarding (Month 6)
- Impact Report: A final report comparing Month 6 data to the Month 1 baseline.
- Playbook Creation: A strategy and execution handover/onboarding document for branding and strategy continuity.
