Job Description
Heartland Consulting, a Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking exceptional professionals to support the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) Financial Management Directorate (FMG). You will directly advance warfighter readiness by modernizing financial operations, achieving standalone audit readiness, and delivering measurable efficiencies - all strictly within the USUHS environment and tools.
- Job Summary Serve as the primary audit liaison and financial management expert, delivering high-quality audit responses and PBC/sample packages that enable USUHS to maintain standalone financial audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level audit responses to management and Independent Public Accountants (IPA).
- Prepare Provided-By-Client (PBC) and audit sample document packages.
- Prepare and test Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
- Support the full audit lifecycle while maintaining program documents and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Ten (10) or more years of DoW Government auditing experience.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in providing audit responses to senior management and Independent Public Accountants (IPA).
- Five (5) or more years of experience in preparation of Provided-By-Client (PBC) and Sample document packages.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in preparation and testing of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or Communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including SharePoint and Google Suite.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in working at multiple levels with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to manage and maintain program documents.
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) and/or Certified Government Financial Management (CGFM) certification.
