Unix DBA

As a Database Administrator (DBA) at WillWare Technologies, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting highly available and scalable database environments, with a strong focus on Apache Cassandra and other NoSQL databases. Your role will involve hands-on experience in distributed systems automation, performance tuning, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator with hands-on expertise in Cassandra, Redis, MariaDB, and/or MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of NoSQL database concepts and distributed systems.
• Solid experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of replication consistency models, partitioning, and data distribution.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, OpsCenter, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with DevOps and SRE metrics, including change failure rate, lead time for changes, and automation maturity.

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role.
• Hands-on expertise in Apache Cassandra and other relevant NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages.
• Strong understanding of database concepts, distributed systems, and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and SRE metrics.
