Job Description

Our client, a highly respected name in Civil Engineering, is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer for a completely remote position. This role offers the flexibility to work from any location within the US while contributing to significant infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for the design and analysis of structural systems for a variety of building types, ensuring safety, durability, and code compliance. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of structural principles, and the ability to work autonomously. Primary Responsibilities: Perform structural analysis and design for buildings and other structures using industry-standard software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System). Develop detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for structural components using steel, concrete, masonry, and timber. Conduct site investigations and review construction progress to ensure design intent is met. Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other project team members to coordinate structural designs. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their technical development. Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IBC, ASCE). Prepare technical reports, memorandums, and presentations for clients and project stakeholders. Participate in project meetings and contribute to design discussions. Stay updated on the latest advancements in structural engineering materials, technologies, and design methodologies. Manage project timelines and deliverables for assigned structural engineering tasks. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural focus. Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. SE license is a strong plus. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software. Thorough knowledge of building codes and standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Experience with seismic and wind load analysis. Demonstrated leadership potential. While our operations are linked to Baltimore, Maryland, US , this position is fully remote.
