Senior Mining Geologist

Our client, a prominent player in the natural resources sector, is actively seeking an experienced Senior Mining Geologist to join their esteemed team in Nagpur, Maharashtra, IN . This is a crucial on-site role within our operational base, essential for the successful exploration, evaluation, and development of mineral deposits. The ideal candidate will possess extensive field experience, advanced geological knowledge, and a strong commitment to safe and efficient mining practices.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and exploration activities to identify and delineate potential mineral resources. Develop and implement detailed exploration programs, including drilling campaigns and geophysical surveys. Perform geological modeling and resource estimation using industry-standard software to define ore reserves and mineable resources. Interpret geological data, including core logs, assay results, and structural information, to guide mining operations and exploration strategies. Collaborate closely with mine planning engineers, metallurgists, and environmental specialists to optimize resource extraction and mine development. Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies in all field operations. Prepare comprehensive geological reports, presentations, and technical documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Supervise and mentor junior geologists and field technicians, providing technical guidance and support. Contribute to the evaluation of new project opportunities and conduct due diligence assessments. Stay abreast of advancements in geological software, exploration techniques, and mining technologies. Maintain accurate geological databases and records. Qualifications: Master's degree in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related geoscience field. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in exploration and/or mining geology, with a focus on relevant mineral commodities. Proven expertise in geological mapping, core logging, and resource estimation techniques. Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac) and GIS applications. Strong understanding of structural geology, mineral deposit formation, and mining methods. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise technical reports. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in remote field environments and manage logistical challenges. Experience in supervising and mentoring technical staff. A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship in mining operations. Must be willing to work extensively on-site at mining locations.
