Senior Mining Geologist

Our client, a prominent force in the Mining industry, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Geologist to join their operations based in Bhopal. This is a critical on-site role, demanding extensive field expertise and a deep understanding of geological principles as applied to resource exploration and extraction. You will be responsible for leading geological surveys, analyzing core samples, and interpreting geological data to identify and evaluate mineral deposits. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in mine geology, resource modeling, and exploration project management.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing exploration programs, conducting geological mapping, and utilizing advanced geological software for data analysis and 3D modeling. You will play a vital role in resource estimation, reserve calculations, and providing geological input for mine planning and development. Collaboration with mine engineers, geophysicists, and other technical teams will be essential to optimize mining operations and ensure efficient resource utilization. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage complex projects in challenging environments. A commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and adherence to industry best practices is paramount. The successful candidate will be an adept communicator and a decisive leader, capable of making critical geological assessments in the field and in technical reviews.

Qualifications

Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related earth science discipline. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mining geology, exploration, or resource geology. Extensive experience in geological mapping, core logging, and sample analysis. Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Micromine). Strong understanding of mineral deposit types, exploration techniques, and resource estimation methodologies. Experience in managing exploration projects and leading technical teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings. Ability to work effectively in remote and challenging field conditions. Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations in the mining industry. Professional Geologist (PG) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
