Senior Mining Engineer - Operations

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage daily mining operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity targets are met. Develop, implement, and monitor short-term mine production plans. Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies. Supervise, train, and mentor mining personnel, fostering a high-performance team culture. Analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost-saving measures. Optimize equipment utilization and performance to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborate with geologists to ensure effective mine-to-mill integration. Participate in mine planning, budgeting, and capital expenditure processes. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments. Investigate and report on any operational incidents or accidents, implementing corrective actions. Implement best practices in mining operations and technological advancements. Manage contractor activities within the operational areas. Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in mining operations, with a significant focus on operational management. In-depth knowledge of mining methods (underground or open-pit), mine planning software, and operational principles. Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate diverse workforces. Strong understanding of mine safety regulations and best practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in mine planning and production management software. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders. Experience with budget management and cost control is essential. Ability to work in remote mine site conditions and flexible hours as required. Professional Engineer (PE) designation or equivalent is a plus.
