Senior Mining Engineer - Operations

Our client, a prominent player in the mining industry, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Engineer to oversee operational efficiency and safety at their mine site in Indore, Madhya Pradesh . This is a critical on-site role, requiring extensive knowledge of mining operations and a strong commitment to best practices.

As a Senior Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of underground or surface mining operations. Your duties will include optimizing extraction methods, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing mining equipment, and supervising a team of mining professionals. You will leverage your expertise in mine planning software, geological data analysis, and operational management to enhance productivity and minimize risks.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement detailed mine plans, production schedules, and operational strategies. Oversee daily mining operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met. Supervise and mentor a team of geologists, surveyors, technicians, and other mining personnel. Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies. Manage the maintenance and operation of mining equipment and machinery. Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimations for new mining projects or expansions. Utilize mine planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, Surpac, Vulcan) for design and simulation. Analyze geological data and ore body characteristics to optimize extraction methods. Monitor production rates, costs, and resource utilization, identifying areas for improvement. Implement strategies to reduce operational risks and enhance workplace safety. Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and other stakeholders. Contribute to the continuous improvement of mining processes and technologies. Manage inventory of mining supplies and materials. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mining operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or senior engineering role. Proven experience in underground or surface mining operations, depending on the specific site requirements. In-depth knowledge of mining laws, regulations, and safety standards. Proficiency in mine planning software and geological modeling tools. Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills. Excellent understanding of mining equipment and operational best practices. Ability to work effectively in a challenging, remote, and often demanding operational environment.
