Job Description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized industrial components, is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to enhance their production capabilities at their facility in **Winnipeg, Manitoba, CA**. This role is crucial for optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing new technologies, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, process automation, and production optimization within a demanding industrial setting.

Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain advanced manufacturing processes and systems. Analyze production data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and quality enhancement. Lead the implementation of new manufacturing technologies, including automation, robotics, and advanced machinery. Design and optimize production lines and workstations for maximum efficiency and ergonomics. Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all manufacturing processes. Collaborate with R&D, design, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement. Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions. Evaluate and select new equipment and tooling to meet production demands. Manage manufacturing engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Provide technical expertise and training to production staff and technicians. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Conduct process capability studies and implement statistical process control (SPC). Contribute to the development of long-term manufacturing strategies and technology roadmaps. Work with suppliers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of materials and components. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering. Strong experience with automation, robotics, and PLC programming. Proficiency in manufacturing process design, optimization, and troubleshooting. Experience with CAD/CAM software and other relevant engineering tools. Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and challenging production environment. Experience with metal fabrication, machining, or assembly processes is highly desirable. Knowledge of supply chain management principles.
