As a Senior Logistics Operations Manager for our client, a global leader in supply chain solutions, your role will involve overseeing and optimizing their extensive logistics network. This fully remote position allows you to manage operations and drive efficiency from anywhere. Your responsibilities will include managing all logistics activities, such as transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution, to ensure the seamless and cost-effective movement of goods globally. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics and a proven ability to implement best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize logistics operations, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Manage all aspects of transportation, including carrier selection, negotiation, route planning, and performance monitoring.
- Oversee warehousing operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, order fulfillment, and space utilization.
- Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, sales, operations) and external partners (3PLs, carriers) to ensure supply chain alignment.
- Implement and leverage advanced logistics technology and software to enhance visibility, efficiency, and decision-making.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and mitigate risks.
- Manage budgets for logistics operations, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a strong focus on global operations.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale transportation networks and complex warehousing operations.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics software, WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop strategic solutions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing teams.
- Proficiency in international trade regulations and customs procedures.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage operations in a remote setting.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
